Ext. Crime scene - night

The scene is grim. Lights from police cars dance on the walls of a dirty, dark alley. Blood is on the snow and a body lies covered in a black tarp. On top of the tarp are a GUN and a BADGE. A police officer walks over to the body and picks up the items and seals them in evidence bags. FLASH! The blinding light of a flashbulb goes off, interrupting the scene's somber mood. HAROLD, a local reporter in his 40s, stands next to an OFFICER.

Marvin the Paranoid Android v2by ~feedmyleg

Going along in the series I've started of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy characters, I've just drawn Marvin. I've never been happy with any of the incarnations of Marvin I've seen. The comic, TV miniseries, the upcomming movie, and any other version of Marvin I've seen have never completely satisfied what he was like in my head. I fiddled around with a few designs the other day, and I came up with this one being the most accurate. It's not perfect, but it looks enough like the version I've got in my head to make me happy. Drawn, scanned, vectors and colors in flash.

I liked this... but I liked really a lot the movie Marvin.
Maybe yours is more like the book's, or something.

YES! This is actually really close to how I'd always seen him, too ... very tall, very lanky, slightly hunched over.

And with that pain in all the diodes down his left side.

One of the great things about HHGG is that you're basically free to interpret all the characters and things the way you want

I like the other versions of Marvin I've seen, but yours is great too - I'd never imagined him as being so slender but it actually suits him and he looks so much more efficiant this way, like he was designed to be helpful rather than being designed to be a lump of junk XD which is how he's meant to look I guess

I really like how you did his hands and forearms for some reason. The colours look really nice - the simple style of colouring works really well and suits the drawing. The background works well too
